2014 : Project highlights
A selection of TVC projects that I have worked on this year at Cutting edge, mostly modeling, animation, surface-ing/texturing and rigging.

Vacation Migration ; Wandering Tattler,I put in a fair amount of research on this bird, I even got to photograph some at the QLD Museum for texture reference. The Wandering Tattler migrates from Siberia down to Australia for each southern hemisphere summer (avoiding the cold winter up north) to feed in the wetlands/coastal regions. I sculpted it up in ZBrush, 3D Coat for retopo, rigged in Maya and rendered in Houdini with feather grooming set up by the Houdini boys Dave B and Rangi S.
2013 : Projects
Maruhan:
I was responsible for modelling, texturing and rigging of the marionette and 2D character and some of the animation. The marionette was initially sculpted in 3D Coat then re-topologised and set up as a sub-D model with displacement maps for the wrinkles and bump for the fabric of her jacket.
Maya, 3D Coat and Vray.

Louie The Fly:
I was lucky enough to help out the Sydney crew with some models and rigs for the Louie the fly campaign; I modelled and rigged up the new Spider character and reworked one of the older Mozzie models with a new set of hands and lab coat. I would love to have done more - Louie is one of my favourite characters/campaigns.

Bundaberg Sparkle :
I was able to use my games modelling experience to build gem - like facets into the girl models -keeping to the clean cut glass/swarovski style. I was also responsible for rigging and some of the animation.
Maya and Vray.

Arnotts - Big Tedz
I had fun with this one - I modelled, textured, rigged and animated the Ted character. The character was Initially blocked out as a sculpt in 3D Coat to get proportions from 2D art correct, then re-topo-ed and set up as a sub-D model.
Maya, 3D Coat and Mental Ray.

Mazda CX5:
With this project I was primarily involved in converting and optimising the CAD data from the CX5 as well as rigging up and animation of the CG car in shots. Additionally I was involved in modelling, texturing and the base shader creation of buildings, roads and general city assets. Part of the optimisation of the CAD data of the car included rebuilding of overly complex surfaces - replacing the dense geometries with animation/render friendly versions of the CAD data.
