The Zendai biped, from the Luyten 726-8 system are also known as sick licker's, are well loved by fetishists with well stocked bestiaries, as their bodies exude a lubricant, while extremely toxic enhances the senses (all the senses). More pics to come.
The mis-named Daffys predator dog (canis rapax) of Orion 5 is actually a carrion eater similar to the earth Hyena or vulture, whilst the spines of these creatures are poisonous they are only ever used in defence and despite their fierce appearance make wonderful pets (if you can stand their breath and propensity to drool when excited).
Working on ways to improve my concept sculpt renders, to get them more production ready (i.e. as it would look like in the final shot). So started playing about in modo with displacement maps from a ZBrush sculpt along with a colour/spec.
Its been a while since my last wip/blog post - wanted to get this one finished off for a while, she has been sitting in my unfinished folder for a while. I will finish up the sculpt, texture painting and posing tomorrow night - really enjoying the kelp/hair in ZBrush - finish it up in Z Brush - not going for full realism in the final render and Z Brush can hold up pretty well if you play with the render settings and passes in photoshop. Weirdly enough she is looking a bit Yolandi Visser in the face right now, I will probably push her facial features more into the animal/fish for the final version.
Monday night - ZBrush - a dynamesh sketch, just playing about with shapes.
Its great to have a bit of free time at work play/learn and to finally finish this guy off. A quick test render today with ZBrush's fiber mesh, I don't quiet have the full control of the hair fibers yet, but will keep on playing with variations. I have added wrinkles and pores - I will need to push them further and make the wattle under his neck more obvious. Its not so much of a rough sketch now, but I really do need to finish it off soon and move on.
VFX artist and sometimes animator, this is my blog.
